What comes to mind when you hear the word Hemp? If it’s not my best friend, the most hydrating ingredient known to people kind! or an ingredient that works wonders on my skin, then you’ll find this blog educational (and better yet, interesting!) First things first – here’s everything you need to know about our superhero ingredient:

1. Hemp will not get you high!

Hemp Seed Oil is extracted from the actual seed of the plant, and doesn’t contain any THC.

2. Hemp is great for all skin types

Have you been tentative to incorporate Hemp Seed Oil into your skincare ritual because of sensitive or acne-prone skin?  Have no fear, Hemp Seed Oil is a versatile skin saviour, because it works on all kinds of skin. 3. Hemp is extremely sustainable and planet-friendly

For every tonne of Hemp that is produced, 1.63 tonnes of carbon is removed from the air. This means Hemp converts carbon dioxide to oxygen better than trees! The yield of hemp is also incredibly quick – our Tasmanian Hemp takes just 6 months to grow. Hemp also helps to regenerate the soil, thanks to the nutrients contained within the resourceful plant!

4. Hemp can be used as a renewable bio fuel!

Let’s get into the science! When compared to fossil fuels, Hemp fuels emit 80% less carbon dioxide, with almost zero sulfur. This means that two major factors that contribute to global warming and climate change don’t become a problem: fewer greenhouse gases are generated, and no acid rain occurs.

5. Hemp is one of the most hydrating ingredients for our skin

Here are two words you probably haven’t heard of: oleic and linoleic acid! These acids in Hemp Seed oil work together to moisturise and soften the skin. Omega-6 and omega-3 are superstars fatty acids that are pros at hydrating the skin, and treating skin conditions like atopic dermatitis. As an added bonus, these fatty acids also reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and stop further damage in its tracks. Win/win!
